Tiptree Tearooms | Bond Street
Tiptree at Bond Street, Chelmsford is the Tiptree brand’s first city centre venue, and comprises of a traditional Tiptree tearoom, a café patisserie and shop.
Following our work fitting out the Southwold branch, we were asked to return to fit out this two-storey building in bustling Chelmsford’s open-air shopping centre. The tearoom offers traditional table service in comfortable surroundings, the café patisserie can offer a simple coffee and delicious pastry for those who are short on time and the shop features an extensive range of Tiptree products, including jams and marmalades and their luxury gift range.
This was another project that was an absolute pleasure to work on. It ran on-time and on-budget, with our team working seamlessly with the Tea Room team and their headquarters. The space was fitted out from scratch – all new wiring, flooring, counters, storage and decoration.

Venetian Glory
We are particularly fond of the gorgeous mismatched floor tiles which run through the central part of the seating area floor – they lend an air of faded Venetian glory, which works beautifully well with the sage and cream of the panelled walls and plush bench seating. Even the simple and stylish suspended ceiling blends in!
The sleek lines of the counters have built-in storage units to maximise display space and the bespoke shelving sits perfectly against the long back wall, making the products the absolute star of the show!
The Beauty of Bespoke
Our favourite feature, though is the uniquely designed table top that surrounds the trunk of the ‘tree’ growing through the tea room – it looks almost organic, the way the grass grows through a crack in concrete! But that’s the beauty of bespoke and a team who are always thinking of things from a different angle! The finishing touches outside are the traditional hanging clock and the stencil-effect side gates, which carry through the style of the Southwold Tea Room.
