Queens of Mayfair is a stunning coffee bar by day and cocktail bar at night, featuring exclusive coffee blends, seasonal, quality produce and an interior to die for!
It’s the brainchild of two sisters, Grace & Victoria Sheppard. Having worked in Mayfair for many years the sisters decided to create their dream venue including all the things they felt were missing in one place in the W1 area.

Coffee and Cocktails
The sisters pay homage to their home county of Dorset throughout the menu which comprises breakfast, morning cakes and baked goods, lunch, afternoon drinks, cocktails, champagne selection and sharing boards for the evening. At weekends the bottomless brunch is definitely a great choice.
Counter Changes
One of the most striking aspects of the interior design of Queens of Mayfair is the gorgeous corrugated blue counter which runs the length of the front room, but it is also the feature that proved to be the most tricky. Handcrafted to spec by our team in the Colchester workshops, once delivered to London and put in pace it became clear that, while the right height for leaning whilst louchely sipping a cocktail, the height was a little too imposing upon entrance to the venue and, with glass cloches housing delicious pastries on top, definitely too high altogether! No biggie – we sketched out the changes in situ, brought it back to the workshop for a redesign and then delivered it back to London to be reinstalled.
Seamless Subcontracting
One of the joys of working with GS Contracts is that we have, over the years, built up great relationships with so many quality subcontractors, including electricians, lighting specialists, plumbing and mechanical contractors. Working with familiar faces proved utterly seamless on this project, but because we are such old hands at managing other tradespeople and multiple diaries, even when the clients have their own preferred contractors, as at Queens, for the banquet seating and wallpapering services, those works slotted right in to our schedule without incident.
Bathroom Selfies
We loved working on this fit-out, which took a sprightly 5 weeks in total, and includes an Insta-worthy bathroom, just perfect for selfies – good lighting, floor to ceiling mirrors, hand-painted wallpaper in chinoiserie blues and golds, and high-end brass finishes combine to make a social media savvy pitstop for a stylish crowd! Attention to detail was really spot-on throughout this job, but the bathroom is particularly swish! It has certainly got people talking.
