Project News: Selfridges
We recently manufactured and installed a counter for Dolly’s Café in Selfridges store, in London. We worked in conjunction with Selfridges‘ own in-house design team and Lockhart Catering Equipment.
Dolly’s Café was inspired by the Dolly Sisters – identical twin showgirls from the early 20th century. It offers a range of cakes and pastries, finest teas, coffees, open sandwiches and light salads.
The project was challenging due to the number of different materials involved, including glass, metal, wood and marble. The counter has a stainless steel under-carcass, stainless steel and aluminium powder-coated extrusions at the front, with painted glass panels at the rear. The top was made from marble, which was imported especially from Italy in order to match their existing marble floor tiles.
