Case Study: The Meat and Wine Co. Restaurant
Project: The Meat & Wine Co. restaurant, located in the new Westfield Shopping Centre (which opened in Shepherd’s Bush, London, near the end of 2008).
Brief: To manufacture and fit out the Meat & Wine Co. flagship London restaurant with a striking African design and many bespoke features.
Project Details
Research & Design: Since this was to be the first Meat & Wine Co. restaurant in Europe, we first visited two of their existing restaurants in Dubai, to get a feel for their interior brand concept. The design for this restaurant reflects its African heritage, using a mixture of vibrant colours, striking shapes and rich textures.

Constructing the Internal Space: The 1000 square metre unit was provided as an empty shell: we created the internal space by erecting partition walls and varying floor levels. The variation of ceiling heights and shapes played an important part in the concept.

Bespoke Manufacturing: The interior we created had an array of interesting high-quality finishes, and offered many challenges in manufacturing bespoke items to meet the designers’ requirements.

PUZA Spear-head Bar: One of our favourite features in this project is the beautiful PUZA bar, which was manufactured in the shape of an African spear-head.

Wall of Wine: A particularly memorable feature is the towering wall of New World wines (currently the tallest in London, at 10.5 metres high!), which is the signature feature of all the Meat & Wine Co. restaurants worldwide, and reflects their impressive wine-list.

Final Comments: Everyone was delighted with the end result. The restaurant looks striking and extremely unusual, creating a luxurious and memorable experience for diners.
